A quick little episode about soothing the brain's emotional centres - the amygdala. By bringing the amygdala out of the high-alert status, we free up our logical mind and feel more relaxed. Here are two ways to feel more relaxed and to come down from highly emotional negative states.

Are you a towards or away-from person? What about the people around you? These are personality traits that make our thinking lean a certain way.
Towards people are positive, look towards goals and can be too gung-ho. Away from people can recognise negatives, risks and errors, they are often pushed into action by fear. If we can strike a balance, we've got it cracked!
